FROME - WORK EXPERIENCE PLACEMENT

Work Experience Placement

We have started our outreach programme with a work experience placement from a local school which was fantastic and so rewarding to help others. The week involved learning about film, film making, risk management, jobs, opportunities, interviewing at Frome FM, editing and creating a film involving Humpty Dumpty.... what fun, the film will be available in the future I'm sure.

We have also just donated 12 trees to a local Nature and Conservation start-up near Buckland Dinham near Frome in Somerset,  India Chestnuts and Sweet Chestnuts. It is wonderful to find a local home for the Category Award Runners-Up Directors trees, given as prizes, they will planet trees for the 6 Directors from around the world and we will share photos to keep them connected with them.

The Directors can visit their trees as and when they come to Frome

There was a large presence of various groups that are influencing their territory to move towards agroecological processes. Attendance ranged between 85 and 120 people from around 25 municipalities in the state of Jalisco.

The Climates Sponsor Young Filmmakers in Mexico

As part of the meeting's programming, one of the "star"activities was the showing of short films made by young people, around the topic of agroecology. In total, there were seven groups that for three months worked on a process of generating technical capacities to create “agrovisual” materials that were presented as part of the meeting. These short films portray agroecological themes, environmental problems, development alternatives and will be presented next year at the 2024 Climate Film Festival in England.

Young, Women and RASA

Youth and Women had valuable presence at the meeting providing evidence of generational change of the RASA and of youth in general involved with agroecological processes.

This makes the adults who started this feel satisfaction and hope that agroecological processes will continue to develop hand in hand with new generations.
