THE CLIMATE FILM FESTIVAL (The Climates)
The Frome International Climate Film Festival is the WORLD'S FIRST AND ONLY dedicated free film festival to champion and to promote Climate and Environmental through positive films. The festival now in its 5th year is looking for FILM SUBMISSIONS WHICH CAN HELP AND SUPPORT PEOPLE, ORGANISATIONS AND COMMUNITIES TO CHANGE TO A MORE SUSTAINABLE LIFESTYLE.
The festival is free as we believe there should be no barriers to a more sustainable lifestyle. Through positive films we can raise awareness of the climate and the environment and help to accelerate change. Our festival aims to inspire people to change through connecting, sharing, supporting and creating pathways for change to a more sustainable lifestyle.

Mission
To Change and to Connect the World through Positive Climate and Environmental Films and to Make them Visible.
We are also looking to grow a Global Film Family and to create a platform (CAN YOU HELP ?) to enable us all to connect, share, support and inspire each other in our day to day lives, sharing knowledge, offering help, collaborating and promoting each others work to accelerate change for us and our children.

Our values create a safe and inclusive space for connecting, sharing, supporting and inspiring green change. We aim to help people to find themselves and to support them on their pathway.
The Films
Films can be any length and topic BUT they must have a GREEN THEME, CLIMATE and the ENVIRONMENT based and help to support PEOPLE TO CHANGE
So let's see your passion and hear your voice. Films over 12 months old will only be considered by special exception.
The films can be an interview, a short film, a feature film, filmed poetry, art or music, comedy, adverts or green technology, community project, a silent feature whatever inspires you with a green message to help change.
Those selected into the festival will all receive festival laurels, THEN A LIMITED NUMBER OF FILMS WILL THEN BE SELECTED TO BE SCREENED ON THE DAY OF THE FESTVIAL, these directors will be notified.
The winners of the prestigious 'CLIMATE AWARD' created by local sculpture Anthony Rogers will be notified prior to the day of the festival.
Note: Those accepting the beautiful handcraft unique awards, a 'CLIMATE AWARD' will have to pay shipping duties into their country.
Submissions will ONLY be open for 6 WEEKS this year, opening for submissions on JANUARY 1st 2026 and closing on FEBRUARY 12th 2026 with entries being limited 500 in 2026 due to the resources available.

The festival films submitted MUST BE POSITIVE please and related to one of the following green themes as we are helping and supporting.
-Raising AWARENESS of the climate and environment
-Helping people to CHANGE to a greener lifestyle
-Helping people to RECONNECT with the environment.

THE AWARDS
1. All films accepted into the festival will receive the festival laurels
2. Category Award winners will each receive winners laurels and a prestigious international Climate Award, a carved wooden sculpture by local sculpture, Anthony Rogers (see link below) and the runners up will receive a tree to plant in the UK.
3. You will be also be invited to join the Global Film Family to support each other as we try to accelerate green change through film around the world

We want your POSTIVE films about Climate and the Environment to HELP CHANGE - FILM FORMAT for entries the same as YOUTUBE, use your phone and let's get filming. (MP4 file type and also recommends h.264 video codec and aspect ratio of 16:9) Shout if you need help.

Net Zero Award (Film with a Low Carbon Footprint)
Best Climate Music or Climate Art Film (Must include the Musicians or Artists)
Best Film by Somerset or Southwest Film Director (UK)
Films to be transferred/uploaded to festival organisers via FilmFreeway or please email the festival if this is a problem to discuss via fromeclimatefilmfestival@gmail.com.
Please submit a short PROMO REEL for Social Media (10 secs) with you submission to promote you and your film which will also help the festival.
IMPORTANT NOTICE
Film makers under the age of 16 years, your films must be submitted by a parent, guardian or through your school.
All films must also have the permission of all parties involved in the film and/or depicted in the film before the film is submitted to Frome International Climate Film Festival.
