Film Title: DOWNSTREAM
Glacier loss is one of the most visible impacts of climate change on the outdoor industry, with clear consequences for alpinism and winter sports. But what about the broader implications for our planet and society?
"DOWNSTREAM" is a joint science and film project that explores these far-reaching effects. The film follows Dr Juliette Becquet, a French Hydro-Ecologist who grew up in the shadow of Chamonix's retreating glaciers. She embarks on a global journey, from the vineyards of Switzerland to the slalom culture of Native American tribes, learning how glacier loss touches all of us—because we all live downstream.
The story expands to New Zealand, where Juliette investigates how forward-thinking businesses address these challenges. The film explores regenerative agriculture’s potential to mitigate climate change and offer resilience in the face of glacier loss.
